Martell VSOP, along with partners INSEAD and Standard Chartered Bank, are inviting enterprising individuals to submit their most innovative business ideas for its latest initiative, “The Ultimate Start-up Space”. From 1 December 2009 to 12 February 2010, aspiring business owners can submit their ideas via a 60-second video application at “The Ultimate Start-up Space”.
Martell VSOP will take on the role of an incubator and provide the top ten finalists with training from industry leaders to arm them with knowledge essential to run a viable business with the help of INSEAD and Standard Chartered Bank. The ultimate winner, who will be crowned the Martell Rising Personality 2010, will also receive training in an INSEAD Executive Education programme.
Submissions will be judged by a panel of experts and the winning idea will be selected based on originality, ingenuity and potential to succeed. During the submission period, members of the public are invited to rate the submitted ideas. The ultimate winner will be granted the definitive start-up space in Clarke Quay, one of central Singapore’s most vibrant districts, rent-free for a period of six months and a funding of S$20,000 to live out the dream.
“Since its inception, Martell VSOP has championed individuals who are relentless in challenging the impossible and pushing the boundaries of success. Through the brand’s dedicated support and funding, we believe “The Ultimate Start-up Space” will provide the perfect opportunity to enable a visionary to take that first crucial leap in propelling his or her business dream into reality,” said Mr Paul-Robert Bouhier, Managing Director of Pernod Ricard Singapore.
Just don’t get too drunk on the idea, though.
The winner of “The Ultimate Start-up Space” will be unveiled in March 2010.

Hi Anshul and Daniel, my agency is handling this campaign for Martell VSOP and we are open to any type of business ideas. If you want to clarify any issues, please drop me an email at

Thanks for taking an interest in this campaign!
Hi Anshul,
Not sure how I can advise you here. It seems likely that as a FMCG brand and with an actual physical space in a touristy area that is better suited for retail, Martell VSOP will be more inclined towards a startup that creates actual physical products.
If anything, my advice is not to tweak to suit their needs. Stay true to your offerings.
I went to their site and looking at the ideas submitted, it seems that they are looking at providing space for businesses which have a consumer product, where people can come and shop/relax. I wanted to apply for our company as well but am not sure if we fight into their target market. Any suggestions?
