The ideas.inc Business Challenge organized by Nanyang Technological University’s NTU Technopreneurship Center and SPRING Singapore, has finally drawn to a close, having first started in September last year.

Last week on 16 July, guest-of-honor Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan, Singapore’s Minister for Community Development, Youth and Sports, handed out awards to the winners of the ideas.inc Business Challenge during the Grand Finals.

The inaugural champion of the competition went to online fundraising platform GIVE.sg (we’ve featured them in this previous article). First runner-up went to soymilk dessert maker Soyato, while second runner-up was In Vitro – who invented “Plant–Breeze”, the first bio–mechanical air filtration system in Asia.

Social gaming startup Manga Castle, whom we featured here, won a top incubation award – investment options given out by Invention Capital worth a minimum of S$100,000 – as well as being the team that garnered the most online and SMS votes.

You can find out more here.

It has been a delightful eight months seeing participating teams grow from strength to strength, developing their business ideas from an executive summary to tangible businesses.

We look forward to seeing the next iteration of this competition!
