Do you know the two things preventing you from experiencing continued success in your life?

#1 – Not knowing where you are.
#2 – Not knowing where you’re going.

You may think to yourself, “Come on, Neagle. You’ve got to be kidding me. I know exactly where I am, and where I’m going.”

Do you?

Many people don’t have the slightest idea where they are.

For example, let’s say your goal is to build a successful business, but you have an underlying need for love, security, or self-esteem from other people.

Every decision you make will be based on feeling secure, appreciated, worthy or loved.

Instead of understanding the TRUTH (which is that you already have these three things inside of you), you’ll be out there trying to GET those things from other people.

You will over deliver, you will under charge for your product or service, you’ll sacrifice your time or money to make someone else happy, and a feeling of resentment and hopelessness will begin to grow inside you.

Since everything you do is secretly laced with the underlying need for security, you’ll resist doing the things required to grow your business, like self-promoting, sales and being in the spotlight.

If you have a need for security, then you’ve probably built your entire life around “feeling” secure.

So how do you know if your beliefs are preventing your success?

Ask yourself the following question:

What am I resisting? And take a good, long and honest look.

Do you hide from sales conversations or shy away from self-promotion?

Do you need to increase your prices, but worry what people will think of you or if they’ll pay for it?

Do you continually over-deliver, but still seem to attract customers you could never satisfy?

You MUST know where you’re starting from (know yourself and your beliefs) if you’re going to achieve a certain level of success, or you will blindly allow your own wounds to make your business decisions for you.

The second piece critical to your success is to know where you’re going. You can’t get somewhere without first knowing where you’re going. Otherwise, you’re just wandering aimlessly.

I’m not talking about a wish or a hope… I’m talking about a deeper level of desire.

This requires that you pay close attention to your desires and act on them.

Desire is the guide or inner compass that shows you where to go. It offers hints and leave clues. It drives you to do things and overcome fears.

What do you hear in your secret thoughts… those thoughts that you don’t tell anyone about?

Do you hear things and then push them aside as unrealistic or unattainable?

Do you ignore them because you can’t possibly see “The How”?

Do you dis-count them because, “What would people think”?

I encourage you to really pay attention to those deep desires and secret thoughts. Allow yourself to play with the ideas and fall in love them.

Once you’ve formed a clear picture of your desired goal or destination, get emotionally involved with it.

Make it real in your mind.

Write it out and look at it every day.

Then take action on it.

When you find yourself at a roadblock, just put one foot in front of the other and KEEP GOING!
