YSN Launches Global “Build Your Own Virtual SUBWAY® Store” Campaign
The founder of of international sandwich chain SUBWAY®, Fred DeLuca, started his business with a US$1,000 loan when he was just 17. That was in 1965. Today SUBWAY® is the largest restaurant chain in the world with over 38,000 stores in more than 100 countries. DeLuca has proved that one can start a successful business when young without the need for massive amounts of capital… and you can too.
The folks at Young & Successful (YSN), in partnership with SUBWAY®, has launched a global “Build Your Own Virtual SUBWAY® Store” game – which runs from January 12 to March 12, 2013 – that will see players from every corner of the world build their own store, choose their location, learn the business, answer quiz questions, and drive traffic (sales) to their restaurant via social media. Participants will gain points as customers visit their virtual restaurants, as well as through a series of challenges, which include creating a promotional video to pitch themselves and their restaurant. Global and country-specific leader-boards will track the highest scoring contestants throughout the six-week challenge and will determine, along with a comprehensive review by a panel of judges, the top five winners.
The top five winners will win a a VIP, all-expense paid trip to the United States to visit SUBWAY®‘s headquarters, which will include meeting co-founder and president Fred DeLuca and his senior management team as wellas attend a special session of the University of SUBWAY®. From there, the adventure will continue in New York City and Washington DC. 100 semi-finalists, one from each country where SUBWAY® restaurants are located, will be promoted throughout the global chain as high potential talent and given the chance to work with or for SUBWAY®, anywhere in the world.
