New Job, New Focus

I’ll be starting on a new job in a new company from this week, which means that http://www.youngupstarts.com/ may be undergoing some slight changes.  I’m not sure how different things will be yet - maybe in terms of the frequency of posts, perhaps a slight change in focus.

For those who are wondering, I’m joining an independent broadcast media company in a marketing and business development role. It’s not convenient to state exactly where on this platform.  Those who are interested you can always email me at daniel@youngupstarts.com and ask.

“Wait a minute. Why is he joining some company if he’s an advocate of entrepreneurship?” I hear some of you exclaim in righteous indignation.

Well there are many reasons, but I’ll state the most important one (to me, that is). The place I’ll be going to can pretty much be considered a startup.  Although the brand has been around (and been well-loved) for decades, it has been forced to undergo a very drastic metamorphosis to keep up with changing times.  One of the things I’ll be looking at is to explore ways in which the company can adapt the latest social media and web technologies to help it flourish in the future.  That’s what makes the job exciting, and I think it takes entrepreneurial spirit to make things happen.

I’d like to think that what I will surely learn there will provide me with better insight into all things entrepreneurial, so that I have more content to share with you all.
