Malcolm Gladwell is swinging by Singapore again! The international best-selling author of “The Tipping Point“, “Blink”, “Outliers” and “What the Dog Saw” will be speaking at the upcoming Critical Ingredients To Unlimited Success (CITUS) event held on 20 August 2010 at the Singapore Expo. He will be joined by “The Wisdom of Crowds” author James Surowiecki (interestingly, both write for The New Yorker), and together will challenge their Singapore audience to think beyond traditional and conventional views about leadership and success.

Successful people are able to make good choices and identify opportunities which others can’t see, Gladwell says, but more importantly, successful people made those choices because they were looking to seek satisfaction and meaning in their work, and not because they were in pursuit of material success. It’ll be interesting to see how that message resonates with materialistic Singaporeans.

I missed Gladwell when he was recently in town for Business Evangelism 2010 (though I must still extend my thanks to Pat Law for trying to get me a ticket). Hopefully I don’t miss out this time.

  1. both are very compelling writers, and I’m sure their presentations will be equally engaging.

I especially loved “The tipping point”, but not a huge fan of “blink”.

I hope to be able to make it for this as well. šŸ™‚
